Slow and Low that is the Tempo...

« on: July 23, 2008, 07:33:01 AM »

I went to the town beach yesterday.  We just had a big town celebration and I was hoping the crowds would bring some goodies.  I hunted for a couple of hours and didn’t find much but some clad and cheap costume jewelry.  The arrowhead isn’t worth much but it brings me back to when I was a child and I was digging in the sand on the beach of Augusta West Campground and I found one just like it.  I thought I had found pirates treasure.  It s funny how one can forget those little events that spark an interest and fuel a future treasure hunters imagination.  icon_pirat

Also while I was snorkeling I came face to face with a Northern Pike.  Yikes!  That will wake you up.  The funny thing is that he was swimming in a school of yellow perch.  Talk about playing with your food.   laughing7  It’s too bad the lake has pike in it.  So much for the salmon.

No the whole thing is metal.  It was a necklace.  They were popular in the late 80's early 90's.

DevilDog- It was stuck on a rock. The eyelit looks like someone pulled on it so hard it opened.  It might be yours.  You can have it back if you want.

Yours is nicer than mine.  smiley

SI- it was a lot of digging.  Those dang bullets drove me nuts.  I lost the smaller screen on the bottom of my scoop.  They kept falling thru my scoop.  But digging under water isn't that hard so it's not too bad.

Hi sas.  I find tons of bullets everywhere I dive.  Its kind of scary.  My guess would be that they are from many years ago when there wasn't so many people around.  From duck hunters or something.  Or maybe people used to target practice out on the ice when the lake was frozen.  Or people just like to unload their guns into the water to see the water fly into the air.  dontknow

Thanks.  No I haven't yet.  I have been dying to though.  It is on the other side of the lake from me.  I sold my boat last year and have not gotten another one yet.  The money disappeared in to clear carbon monoxide.  cheesy  I could just drive over but the tourest are out full force and there's fee's for everything.
